Real Estate Photography during the COVID-19 Pandemic
In light of Real Estate being deemed an essential service during these trying times, the photographers at byfield-pitman are launching a brand new service. We are offering professional Real Estate photography with a twist.
"Virtual" Real Estate Photography
Despite the many advances in our smartphones, there is no substitute for a professional camera and professional lighting. And... while most people would argue that when selling your home there is no substitute for a professional photographer, many Sellers these days may feel most comfortable limiting the number of people that enter their home, including real estate photographers.
So who takes the pictures?
You do! Or more specifically, the homeowners do.
What camera to use?
Most people have a smartphone, and many own a digital camera. But... what we're doing is we're delivering a professional camera with a wide angle lens—ideal for photographing interiors—right to people's front door, along with a flash. The equipment will be wiped down with disinfectant wipes prior to delivery.
How does the camera work?
We provide homeowners with a camera that's been set up beforehand to be able to capture the best images of their home, and we book a one hour consultation session via FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype to teach the homeowners a handful of interior photography tips.
No way!!! So... the pictures above are all taken by homeowners?
Yes. All of the photos on this webpage were taken by Lindsay and Corey Cholette. They were our guinea pigs in launching this new service! The first picture at the top of the page was taken with their iPhone 11, and the rest of the pictures were taken using our system. And... guess what!? Their home was sold in short order without an Open House or ANY showings until the Buyer's offer was accepted.
What does this cost?
We at byfield-pitman are currently expanding the photography-related services that we offer, and this "Virtual" Real Estate Photography is something that we're charging $300.00 for. For this price, we will provide 30 professionally edited, final images as well as a virtual tour which can be used on the MLS listing.
